I've specialized in maternity portraiture since 2014, trained with world-renowned photographers, and have years of experience posing and styling moms-to-be. You don’t have to stress about what to wear, how to pose, or whether your partner and kids will cooperate—I’ll guide you every step of the way so you look and feel amazing.
Your maternity session should be fun and easy! Whether we’re shooting in my Niantic studio, at a dreamy outdoor location, or a mix of both, I’ll help you plan everything. We’ll start by chatting about your vision, selecting the perfect wardrobe, and making sure every detail is covered.
When we meet for your session, we’ll go over our plan, do a quick hair check, and add any accessories to complete your look. Then, we’ll get to shooting—with plenty of laughs along the way. I’ll guide you through flattering poses so you don’t have to wonder what to do with your hands (or anything else!).
Afterward, I’ll send a watermarked proofing gallery so you can select your favorite images. Once you choose, I’ll edit them to perfection, giving you dreamy portraits you’ll cherish forever.
Your session’s location will shape the overall look of your photos. Do you love the idea of a sunset beach session? A dreamy wooded setting? A modern, minimalist studio look? I have a list of tried-and-true locations and can recommend the perfect one for your vibe.
Studio Sessions – Flexible timing with controlled lighting, perfect for elegant, intimate portraits where we don't have to worry about the weather.
Outdoor Sessions – Typically held during golden hour (the last 1-2 hours before sunset) for soft, flattering light.
Studio + Outdoor Sessions – The best of both worlds! Start indoors, then head outside for golden-hour magic. These sessions may incur an additional fee, so ask for options if it's something that interests you!
What to wear
I offer a curated client closet with stunning maternity gowns in a range of sizes, styles, and colors (you can see a preview of them here ). These gowns are designed to flatter and photograph beautifully. You can also bring your own outfits—whatever makes you feel your best! We’ll coordinate your wardrobe ahead of time to make sure everything comes together perfectly.
Styling the Family
Once we choose your outfit, we’ll coordinate the rest of the family’s looks around it. The goal is to complement, not match. I’m always happy to give suggestions to make sure everyone looks great together.
Hair, Makeup & Shoes
If you love doing your own hair and makeup, go for it! But if you want to treat yourself, I can recommend some amazing hair and makeup artists. As for shoes, they often don’t even make it into the photos. Comfort is key—especially for outdoor sessions. Dad and kids should wear shoes that work with their outfits, but for you, barefoot or simple flats can be perfect.
Gown Fittings
Once you’re booked, I’ll send you a link to my virtual client closet, where you can browse available gowns. You’re also welcome to schedule an in-person fitting at my Niantic studio to try things on and find your perfect look.
I get it—pregnancy can be tough, and not everyone feels their best. But I promise, you will never regret having these photos to look back on. My job is to make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and absolutely stunning. Even if you’d rather keep it simple or just focus on your bump, we can tailor the session to what feels right for you.
Families that book any maternity session along with their Signature, Deluxe or In-Home newborn session will receive a complimentary studio mini baby milestone session for when baby is between 3-9 months old .
