The pregnancy phase of motherhood is truly beautiful; beautiful, exhausting and a little bit overwhelming. There are so many things to think about, plan for and accomplish before your new little one joins the world. This time is fleeting.
Every mom is different. I suggest scheduling your Connecticut maternity portraits between 30-36 weeks depending on how you are feeling. I want to make sure you have that full baby belly but aren’t feeling too uncomfortable from pregnancy. Outdoor sessions may require a little bit of a walk depending on the location, and any session may require bending, sitting or laying in order to get that perfect shot. Because of this it’s critical that you are feeling the best you can for when we take your photos.
For moms of multiples I may take your photos even sooner – most likely during the 2nd trimester. If you’re a soon-to-be mom of multiples and you’re thinking about maternity portraits, find your photographer as soon as possible. Be open about your pregnancy status and give updates to your photographer if it means scheduling your session a little earlier than originally planned.
When it comes to your Connecticut Maternity portrait session, this photoshoot is truly about you. Make sure you’re wearing something that you love how it looks on you. If you are wearing clothes from home, try them on and make sure you have the perfect undergarments to help make you look your best. If you’re thinking about wearing one of my 50+ gowns, set up some time to come over and pick your favorites. Pamper yourself with professional hair & makeup or even a simple manicure. It’s amazing how these little things can shine through in your portraits. Last, but not least, reach out early! Though I have a large client closet full of beautiful gowns, sometimes you want something specific. New handmade gowns can take up to a month to produce and ship. I LOVE when we meet clients early and can start learning about you and your family.
