Let’s be real: family photos can sometimes feel like herding cats. But guess what? I’m here to help make it a fun and relaxed experience for everyone. Whether we’re in a beautiful outdoor location or somewhere meaningful to you, I’ll guide you through every step to ensure you leave with images that capture the heart and personality of your family.

Family sessions are all about documenting those special moments—the laughter, the connection, and even those candid “oops” moments that make your family unique. We’ll work together to create a session that feels authentic, not forced. I promise no awkward stiff poses (unless you love those, in which case, we’ve got you covered).

If you’re aiming for a more relaxed vibe, I’ll help you choose the perfect location and give advice on what to wear to make sure your photos reflect your family’s style.

 

I might not be the first to raise my hand for family sessions, but I’m always ready to help you create memories that will last a lifetime. Connecticut Family Photographer

It’s best to book your session at least a few months in advance, especially for peak seasons like fall. Weekend spots fill quickly! I do have some family mini sessions this year on specific dates and locations you can see on my details or gallery page.

All of my family sessions are held outdoors at a scenic location. I can help you choose the perfect backdrop, whether it’s a beach, field, or park.

Coordinating colors (but not matching outfits) tend to look best! Neutral tones, soft pastels, or earthy colors are always a great choice. Avoid large logos or distracting patterns. I’m happy to provide guidance on outfits!

Trust me, I’ve seen it all! I keep sessions fun and relaxed, with plenty of movement and interaction to keep kids engaged. Some of the best photos come from those in-between moments when kids are just being themselves.

My family sessions are designed for immediate families only (parents and kids). If you’d like to include grandparents or extended family, please reach out for details on a custom session.

I keep an eye on the forecast and will touch base if we need to reschedule due to rain or extreme conditions. Cloudy days actually make for beautiful, soft lighting!

Family sessions typically last about an hour, giving us plenty of time to capture both posed and candid moments.

Yes! I love including pets in family sessions, but please make sure your pup is well-behaved, on a leash, and that we’re in a pet-friendly location. Bring treats and a favorite toy to help keep them engaged!

You can expect to receive your gallery within 2-3 weeks after your session.

I occasionally offer limited-time mini sessions, most of which you can see on my mini session booking page. Keep an eye on my website and social media for new session announcements!

Easy! Just send me a note through my contact form below or at hello@alyinspired.com to get everything started! We'll talk about the process and make sure I'm a great fit for you and your family. Once we're ready to move forward I'll send over my portrait agreement electronically or offer to meet in person to go over everything. At that time a reservation fee of $200+tax will be due for any session and goes directly towards the collection you've chosen at booking. Of course upgrades can be made at any time.
